OUTPOST MEDIA is a clipping service for TV news.   We record every second of every newscast that hits air in the Seattle-Tacoma television market, and then go in and edit out the stories you want to see — like we were clipping out an article from a newspaper.  We then deliver you the clips on DVD or as a high-resolution electronic file, which you can access via a link to our FTP  site.  It’s that simple.  Whether you’re a public relations firm tracking the coverage you’ve facilitated for your client, or maybe a soccer mom who thought she saw her kid on the local news, we’ve got what you need.

We currently monitor the news-producing stations in the Pacific Northwest, but can source clips nationwide.  There are basically two full-scale businesses that do what we do in the Pacific Northwest, and we’re the fastest – some say the friendliest – and by far the least expensive.  In fact, we haven’t raised our prices in over ten years — still just $45 a clip, with the other guys charging as much as $200 or more.  We also work out special deals for multiple-clip orders. 

We also haven’t changed the time and care we put into editing each order.  We deliver the clips in presentation format, audio-sweetening and color-correcting the video, using fades in and out of the segments, introducing the clips with on-screen slates with broadcast dates and stations, and a little extra at no charge — we include all the teases, too.  On multiple-clip presentations, we also arrange the material in chronological order.   No more fumbling through a stack of DVDs or clicking through a litany of e-mailed links when you need to review coverage with a colleague or client.  With Outpost Media, we do all that work for you.

Outpost Media now provides Media Values Reports, too.  We can tell you when your story hit air on any particular station, how long it was, and based on the latest ratings data, approximately how many people actually saw it — and from that info, we calculate what that coverage would’ve cost you if you were to buy the same amount of commercial time.  That’s an invaluable service to ad and PR professionals.  As one of our long-time clients puts it, we help them “justify their existence.”
